It is useful and it is not authoritative. The document it came from is linked in the
rail, and where the two disagree the document is right.
The existing Real Time Passenger Information System contract ends in October 2023 and cannot be extended, so a replacement contract is needed to maintain and improve the city’s 193 real-time information signs and back-office system. The proposed procurement would cover a five-year contract, with a possible two-year extension, divided into back-office supply and maintenance and new and replacement signs.
Recommendation
Authorise the procurement of a new Real Time Passenger Information System contract, to be developed, tendered and awarded for five years with a possible two-year extension, split into two lots: Lot 1 for back-office supply and maintenance and Lot 2 for new and replacement signs.
Financial impact
No direct financial implications arise from the recommendations. The current revenue budget for the RTPI supply contract is £0.234 million, and the estimated replacement cost of the system and obsolete signs is approximately £1.1 million over two years; costs must be contained within existing budgets.

Finding the same decision in other councils needs semantic matching over decision
text, which is part of the search rewrite. Until then, the council's own decisions
list is the way through.
