Everything below was read out of a PDF by a model It is useful and it is not authoritative. The document it came from is linked in the rail, and where the two disagree the document is right.

Brighton & Hove City Council proposed no general changes to school admission arrangements or secondary catchment areas for 2024-25, except reductions in the Published Admission Numbers at Downs Infant School, Hertford Infant School and Hove Junior School - Holland Road. The changes were intended to reduce surplus school places and help schools plan balanced budgets as pupil numbers decline.

Recommendation
Approve the 2024-25 admission arrangements with no changes to the coordinated admission schemes, relevant area or secondary catchment areas, while reducing the Published Admission Number for Downs Infant School from 120 to 90, Hertford Infant School from 60 to 30, and Hove Junior School - Holland Road from 96 to 64.
Financial impact
No specific budget amount stated; falling pupil numbers are expected to reduce school budgets, while planned reductions in Published Admission Numbers may help schools balance future budgets.
